It's not always easy to get kids to take the things they need to stay healthy. And most chewable vitamins and gummies are loaded with refined sugar.
Making gummies is a great way to get kids to take things for supporting their immune system. I used to make elderberry gummies but I found that elderberries tend to be overrated in their ability to really boost immune health so I started looking for more effective ways to support our kids' health, especially in the winter. (Not that elderberries are bad; I just personally wanted to focus my limited efforts on something more effective.)
Then I found a recipe for Thieves gummies. They used tea so I ramped up the immune support by replacing that with highly-antioxidant NingXia Red. I found the recipe needed more gelatin to really make them come out in fun shapes for appealing more to the kids.
I used these Lego molds and these teddy bear molds.
The combination of Thieves and lemon essential oils plus the high-antioxidant drink NingXia Red makes this one of the most powerful ways we can support our family's immune systems!

These gummies take less than ten minutes to put together and last in the refrigerator for about a week.
Warning: They are delicious. You may feel like sneaking a bunch of them yourself. That's okay. Just make more.
Recipe
Here's the recipe (for 2 sheets of gummy bears or 2 Lego sheets--you will probably want to double if you have enough molds!):
3 ounces of NingXia Red
2 Tbsp raw honey
2 Tbsp gelatin (I prefer this grass-fed gelatin.)
3 drops Young Living Lemon Vitality
2 drops Young Living Thieves Vitality
(Important Note: Young Living's Vitality essential oils are the only essential oils labeled for dietary use according to the FDA's newest regulations. Click here for more info on the Vitality line of essential oils. They are the only ones I can recommend for internal use.)
(Click here to read my article about internal use of essential oils.)
Directions:
Put the NingXia Red and raw honey into a small saucepan and heat lightly until warm to the touch, around approximately 110-120*. (Do not boil.) Remove from heat and while whisking, sprinkle in the gelatin a little at a time. Continue whisking until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Add the essential oils, whisk, and it's ready to go into the molds. (Make sure the molds are placed onto a baking sheet for easy handling.) Once the molds are filled, place them in the refrigerator. They will be solid for removal within about an hour. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
That's it! I hope you enjoy as much as we do!
