It is my belief that Satan is using food and drugs (legal, prescription ones as well as illegal street drugs) to bind God’s servants into chains of disease, fatigue, and depression. My goal is to help as many people as possible be armed with the information necessary to prevent these statistics and to strengthen the Lord’s army.
God said through the prophet Hosea:
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. (Hosea 4:6)
While this may be discussing eternal life, we can clearly see from the quote above that it holds true for our physical lives on earth now. And unfortunately, it’s costing us our children’s lives too.
I received this quote from a sister in Christ on my Facebook health page:
My husband is a Youth Minister & each week it seems another child is added to our prayer list w/ some sort of Cancer. It makes me wonder is it the food? & I think it must be. When my grandparents were young it was once in a blue moon to hear of a child w/ cancer. My parents as children they heard of it occasional. As a child (26 now) I could count on 1 hand kids I had heard of w/ cancer. Now an adult I hear of multiple children each week. )o: Something has to change.
That something starts with The Church.
It is estimated that 1 out of 3 people will have cancer. While some of the exposures to carcinogenic toxins are hard to avoid, there are many things that are well within our control. And a body that is fed dead matter called “food” with none of the anti-carcinogenic properties and vitamins that God designed food to have is unable to fight off cancer or other illnesses. Churches are the ones serving donuts and other pastries that are filled with sugar which has been proven to feed cancer cells.
Estimates also reveal that half of all children will be overweight in the near future. They are suffering from diseases that were once primarily only adult diseases, like Type 2 diabetes and signs of heart disease.
A new study recently published by Purdue University Professor Ken Ferraro examined the relationships between religion and both body mass index (BMI) and obesity. The study found that church members tend to be more overweight than the general population, and Baptists, including Southern Baptists, have the distinction of being the most overweight religious group in the study.
Young adults who frequently attend religious activities are 50 percent more likely to turn into obese middle-agers than those with no religious involvement, according to research from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
More than 75 percent of adults attending the 2005 Southern Baptist Convention that completed a wellness screening were found to be significantly overweight. The national average is 65 percent.
Not only is obesity poor stewardship of the body, it’s also poor stewardship of our financial resources. It has been estimated that annual costs associated with overweight and obesity in the U.S. are just under $123 billion. (Wendy Ashley)
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)
We can clearly see that this is one of the Devil’s schemes to attack the Body of Christ.
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11)

What The Bible Says About Healthy Living by Dr. Rex Russell
This book comes highly recommended and is personally favored by me as it is the book that gave me my start 7 years ago! It is exceptionally rooted in Scripture and very easy to understand. It would make a great small group book study. (Click on the picture above for a link to purchase the book.)
Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn’t a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. If you are struggling with unhealthy eating habits, you can break the ‘I’ll start again Monday’ cycle, and start feeling good about yourself today. Learn to stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale. Discover that your weight loss struggle isn’t a curse but rather a blessing in the making, and replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to scripts that lead to victory. You can reach your healthy weight goal — and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. This is a book and Bible study to help you find the ‘want to’ in making healthy lifestyle choices.
I have conducted study groups on this book in my home, and many churches have done it also. It is extremely convicting, effective, and it gets to the real root of many food-induced health problems. For group leaders, here is the leader’s kit:

Is Natural Medicine A False God or Anti-Christian?!
The Bible says a lot more on this topic than most people realize!
In Medicine We Trust
Did you know that the book of Revelations warns us that all nations will be deceived by Pharmakeia (pharmacy)? This important prophecy sadly goes unnoticed in the Church.
Taking The Unpopular Route of Stewardship
This article is written for those who have made the choice to be a good steward of their earthly body but are getting a lot of slack for it among the Christian community.
